Your missionWe have challenging tasks for you:As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and evolving modern cloud platforms for Data & AI. Together with our team and our clients, you will develop platforms that can be operated in a scalable, secure, and sustainable manner.In doing so, you will combine cloud infrastructure, platform architecture, and modern Data & AI technologies into solutions that create a stable foundation for analytics, data engineering, and AI use cases.In detail, you will:Design, build, and continuously evolve cloud-based Data & AI platformsDevelop platform strategies and target architectures together with our clients and implement them technicallyDesign scalable and robust platform architectures that serve as a foundation for data-driven solutionsProvision modern cloud infrastructures on Azure or AWS automatically using Infrastructure as CodeWork specifically with Terraform or OpenTofu as well as modern CI/CD processesDesign and evolve Databricks platforms regarding workspaces, compute, networking, identity, security, and governanceMake architecture decisions and establish best practices for performance, security, governance, scalability, and cost optimizationDevelop reusable platform blueprints, standards, and automationsEvaluate new technologies and platform components and integrate them meaningfully into existing architecturesSupport data, analytics, and AI teams by providing stable and high-performance platformsContribute to technical concepts, architecture workshops, and the further development of our standards together with our teamYour profileWhat we are looking forYou work in a structured manner, think in terms of platforms and architectures, and implement technical solutions cleanly and sustainably.Ideally, you bring to the table:Sound experience in building modern cloud infrastructures and platform architecturesExcellent knowledge of at least one cloud platform, ideally Microsoft Azure or AWSExperience with Infrastructure as Code, e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, or comparable technologiesA strong understanding of scalable, secure, and maintainable system and platform architecturesExperience with technologies in the Data & AI domain, particularly DatabricksKnowledge in areas such as cloud networking, identity & access management, security, and governanceBasic software development skills, e.g., with Python, as well as experience handling APIs and automationExperience with Git and CI/CDA solid understanding of the requirements that data, analytics, ML, and AI workloads place on a modern platformA completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualificationThe ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them purposefullyA structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of workingVery good German skills (C2) and good English skillsWhat we would also be happy to see:Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and governance conceptsExperience with Azure Private Link, VNet Integration, or comparable AWS networking conceptsKnowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD solutionsExperience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or other data platform technologiesExperience with Landing Zones, platform blueprints, or standardized cloud deploymentsExperience in client projects and technical architecture workshopsCertifications in the context of Databricks, Azure, or AWSWhy us?Are you looking to design and build modern Data & AI platforms in the cloud and actively shape the technical future for our clients?Do you think in terms of platforms and architectures, enjoy working hands-on with Infrastructure as Code, and want to create sustainable foundations for data and AI applications?What awaits you with us: High-end tech & genuine appreciation:Modern Platform Engineering: You will design and automate scalable cloud Data & AI platforms on Azure or AWS.
